Rotary & Kiwanis (Delaware)

The warmest doors in town. Local civic clubs fund youth causes directly — often with a handshake and a one-page ask, not a portal. Kiwanis exists for kids. This is relationship money, so a real person matters more than a perfect application.

The Move

Find a board member or parent who knows a Rotarian or Kiwanian (there usually is one). Ask to present for 5 minutes at a lunch meeting with a one-page ask. Lead with a specific, fundable number: "25 scholarships × $50 = $1,250 so 25 local kids can play."

How to Do It

  1. Rotary Club of Delawaredelawarerotary.org (or their Facebook). Club grants $500–$3K; District 6690 grants go higher.
  2. Kiwanis of Delaware — youth service is their entire mission. Find the local contact via the Delaware Area Chamber (740-369-6221) or kiwanis.org club finder.
  3. Bring a one-pager: who we are (501(c)(3), EIN, 100–190 local kids), the specific ask, and the impact ("removes cost as a barrier for Delaware County families"). Pull from the Packet.
  4. Leave a way to pay us + a thank-you plan (banner, social shoutout, invite to a game).

Same Play, More Doors

The identical one-page-ask approach works for VFW Post 1058, Elks Lodge 808, Lions, Moose, Optimist, and Park National Bank (PNB Cares / community giving, frame as a field/equipment sponsorship with logo). Each is $250–$5K and runs on showing up. Knock them out over a few months.
